KINGTTEOK Development Process
It's been 10 years since we started performing with Hallasan fried rice to tell the story of Jeju's birth. We started in a small rural village on the edge of Jeju, but now we want to make it a global brand. We want to make it a tourist product that is more than just paella in Spain. KINGTTEOK is a Jeju-based product targeting the Chinese and Southeast Asian markets. My goal is to globalize KINGTTEOK.
Create a storytelling of the legends of the old kingdom of Tamra.
Once upon a time, in the kingdom of Tamra, there was a prince with an absolute taste for food. No other food could satisfy the prince's demanding palate, so the king began a search for the best chef in the country. The best chef in the country arrived at the palace and created Tteokbokki using fresh octopus, short ribs, and chewy rice cakes. The combination of the ocean flavor of the octopus, the rich juiciness of the short ribs, and the spicy and sweet Tteokbokki sauce satisfied the prince.
The king named the dish "KINGTTEOK (王炒年糕)" and enjoyed it on special occasions. KINGTTEOK (王炒年糕) became a symbol of sharing happiness and joy with the people of the kingdom.
